PHIL TUTTLE
The creator and developer of A Sound Church is Phil Tuttle. He and his wife reside in Dublin, OH and attend church in Powell, OH. A self-proclaimed geek, Phil keeps up with computer technologies and has a weakness for electronic gadgets (just ask his wife).
In 1999, Phil graduated with a bachelor’s degree from MVNU. His music major and business minor is supplemented by 4 certificates from The Recording Workshop, where he graduated in the top 10% of his class.
After college, Phil’s career continued at MVNU where he directed the campus sound department and was responsible for all audio systems on campus, including: portable concert systems, classrooms, music performance halls, and a 2000-seat auditorium. His role also included booking and promoting concerts for the student government, overseeing various crews and teaching them how to use audio systems.
From 2001 to present Phil has spent much of his time on the road traveling as road manager and audio engineer for The Elms. Touring exposed him to every kind of system from small set ups in bookstore appearances to large systems at amphitheaters and venues ranging from clubs to churches.
After mixing well over 1,000 shows, Phil has slowed his concert touring and recognizes the need for better audio education in the church. His ability to connect with people and present information in a very practical manner means that your church will receive the best possible, practical training for your crew of audio volunteers.
